IV Escadron (moto) de la Garde, Hir Moussa, Tunisia, January 1943
Last of the special one-off units I needed for the orbat for this action
1st troop (motorcycle) a mix of Empress and EWM motorised infantry with a variety of M/C combinations
2nd troop (lorried) Oxford di-cast truck
Some pics of the figures

Very impressive. Yesterday, purely by chance, I came across the Empress motorised infantry. They look really good here - I think I shall buy some.

Lovely figures - extremely detailed - the MAS rifles, the leather jackets and helmets with goggles - all superbly sculpted; I am very impressed.
ReplyDeleteJust wish my painting could do them justice :-)
The only thing I would say is they really need a few more rifle poses to allow the gamer to build a better organised force.
Excellent unit. Ask money from Empress. You are making very good advertisong for them.
ReplyDeleteThese are now sold by Dixons I think, some of the finest sculpts I`ve owned.
DeleteOf course later research actually pointed out IVth Escadron of 8th Regiment (moto) de la Guarde at Hir Moussa were actually "motorised" on bicycles - so i have to convert various EWM Dutch, Danish and French cyclist to replace the truck and M/C combinations - ah the joys of research.
