From the height of the shield i would assume kneel or at least crouch, a standing figure is pretty exposed! Though of course they would have to feed shells from the storage bins which would require moving (hence crouch). Go i guess the gunner/aimer kneels behind the shield whilst the loader(s) scurry back and fore crouched over :)
Did the crew kneel or stand when firing the weapon? cool stuff.
