Tufts & grass, etc
I`m not very good at terrain and usually can`t be arsed to mess around basing figures beyond a basic flock style
But I do sometimes experiment and find 28mm stuff needs more effort than 20mm. Anyway, I ran out of tufts and our local model shop was closed for a holiday and I don`t do GW (fuck em)
So I went to Ebay and discovered this company - https://www.warpainter.net/
Bought this set of arid tufts for £4.90 inc postage - pretty good IMHO
Sounds reasonable. Any chance of a tutorial how to fit them wargame-safe?
ReplyDeleteTo be honest i super-glue the tufts to the base - nothing complicated :)
ReplyDeleteBut how to keep them upright? I read some use electricity
ReplyDeleteThat is a different product "Static grass" - comes in a bag (like flock), it is ultra fine fibres, you tip it onto a pre-glued area or figure base, then use an electrical static wand to make it stand up! In theory only the bit on the glue will stick and hence it stands up!!
ReplyDeleteThese are pre glued clumps (about 7mm in diameter), which you then just remove off the backing paper and place as you wish :)
A-haa - wasn't aware of that, so thanks for clearing that up.
ReplyDeleteNo worries, i`m no expert :)
