Bootfair find
bought this for 1€ at a bootfair, it is a stylized souvenir model made of resin of the La Puerta de Alcala in Madrid.
I thought it might make a good entrance to a government building courtyard OR as a monument in a park
A quick paint job and done
With a few Mexicans for scale
I envy. Thats very nice model. No info about manufacturer?
ReplyDeleteNo marks or anything, just a piece of cheap tourist tat :)
DeleteDon't knock cheap tourist tat. Souvenir buildings are great.
DeleteTrue, particularly if you buy them cheap :)
DeleteOOH! That is a beauty! Would make a great portico (even if no roofing) in front of many a building from government, to grand mayors office, to minor palace, or barracks or monastery, etc.. And in many locations from Mexico to Latin America to the Mediterranean.
ReplyDeleteGood idea for potential, and great makeover. CarlL
I`ve had this for a while stuck up on a shelf, but events mean I needed a break and a bit of painting/modeling allowed me to clear my head - thanks for the kind comments.
