Scatter Terrain

Scatter Terrain

I`m sure I`m like everyone else reading this and always have bits on the go - a project part built or something left half finished, then left on the shelf. But towards the end of the year I try and clear the decks.

This year most of my part done bits are smaller pieces of terrain, here is the first batch:

Rock outcrops

These will be used to break up more open areas, giving cover and blocking lines of sight.

Three are plastic from packets of toy soldiers, the last is a piece of insulation I found whilst out walking. All have been based and painted up then I added flock and some foliage.

  1. Very handy pieces of terrain, they all look very good on the table.

    1. Very kind, truth is the earth isn`t flat at all, there are folds, layers, small hills, out crops all over the place :) I find flat tabletops to be rather silly to look at, so I am trying to build up.

  2. I can’t decide whether #1 looks like a piece of cheese (perhaps left in the Sun too long?) or honeycomb from a giant Crunchie bar 😉
Terrain is a wargamers friend - keeping games interesting with options to take cover, hide or ambush.
    Cheers,

    1. Ha, ha, ha :) Yes it does look a bit odd out of setting, but these odd outcrops are quite common here and in North Africa where wind and occational torential rain wears away softer material leaving oddly shaped mounds. The last photo with the Regulares on one side and the MkIV on the other illustrates what I was going for.
