More Punjabi
I find myself needing a Punjab Carrier Platoon for an upcoming game set in Italy.
When I was at the Broadside show in Chatham, I took the opportunity to buy suitable figures and carriers off Andy Grubb, unfortunately it was only when I settled down to head-swap the figures this week I`ve discoverd I`m sort of Punjabi turban heads (ordered off Raventhorpe today).
So here is the dismounted platoon.
The figures are either Britannia Sikh or NWE British infantry each with a Raventhorpe head.

Very nice. Britannia miniatures do have a rather distinctive look about ‘em, but still quite serviceable.
ReplyDeleteWould these figures be suitable for the wars between India and Pakistan after partition?
Cheers,
Geoff
Cheers Geoff - Indo-Pakistan War! Well I don`t see why you couldn`t used these for that no! Mix them with Raventhorpe British (again some head-swaps) Britannia Sikh headed figures would work on their own too.
DeleteFine painting there of good looking figures.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes, James
Very kind, thanks
DeleteAs I read this, coincidence, a news article on the BBC radio came up on Punjabi soldiers new memorial from WW1 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cgqjpqjgxzgo
ReplyDeleteI`m actually reading a book about the campaign in Africa during WW1 at the moment, a lot of Indian units were used out there.
DeleteNice looking figures and a great job on them, must admit the Britannia figures do have a certain charm to them.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I have quite a few Britannia figures, I find them easier to paint than some other brands.
