  1. You’ve certainly played plenty of interesting games with lots of nice painted toys. Well done!! I especially like the fact you generally game the more off-the-beaten-track campaigns.
Here’s hoping for a great ‘26 - and if you get chance to blog about any interesting castles you visit then that would be an added bonus 😉
    Cheers,
    Geoff

    1. Cheers Geoff, I`m always looking for interesting actions to try and play on my tabletop. I hope to continue in the same vein next year.
As for Castles, etc I always try to show readers what I find when I`m out and about (I`m hoping for a long weekend in Valencia in January). I will of course continue to write book and film reviews and showcase what I build and paint too.

Have a great Christmas and New Year, Feliz Navidad

  2. Hello Richard,

Well done on meeting your goal for games! I have been on an Ancients binge this year with only a few ww2 games. And I have been posting less as I am finding playing more fun than writing up games. I do like the goal of 12 in a year and may adopt that for me in 2026, could be achievable.

Have a great holiday and look forward to continue reading you posts in 2026.

  3. Cheers Shaun, writing/designing and then setting up and playing one game a month was an achievable goal. I think I`ll stick with it as long as I can maintain the motivation. Thank you for you kind comments during the last year, all the best to you and the family for 2026 Feliz Navidad!

    1. Thank you, at the end of the day we play with toy soldiers :) For yrs and yrs I`ve wanted to actually play games, now I`m finally organised enough to get it done. I have to admit I quite enjoy reading back through the AARs later too. Feliz Navidad to you and yours mi amigo :)

  5. Usual prodigious amount of activity from you Richard. And your usual applied discipline in putting your required forces together, something that i am appallingly bad at. I flit from project to project, each of which invariably expand outward on a universal level, to the detriment of all and the completion of none. I aim to rectify that this year. Your game reports etc are up there with the best of them and are always interesting and informative. All the best over the festivities and into the New Year.. JOHN BB

    1. Cheers John, Not a huge amount completed compared to some, but looking back over the last couple of yrs, I seem pretty consistant as far as numbers are concerned. It`s the games I`m particularly pleased with :) Working on Januarys game now :)
