Beute M3 GMC75 Tunisia

Beute M3 GMC75 Tunisia

I`ve had this photo for a while awaiting the urge to build and add to my silly collection of beute, captures in Tunisia

Well the Italeri fast builds are two-in-a-box so this was the perfect time, a very mixed crew - driver and commander hard plastic  from various Esci kits, one gunner is also Esci but soft plastic DAK and the other kneeling gunner is MMS, I then added German stowage from various manufacturers.

This will probably add to my 86th Panzergrenadier battlegroup as they really lack armoured equipment

Beute T30 halftrack, Tunisia `43

Captured T30 half-track based loosely on this photo
This vehicle was part of I/Panzergrenadier-Regiment 86

Old Skytrex model (thanks to Alan Owen)
I build the shield out of plastic card (poorly I know) and added mixed stowage.
The gun crew are SHQ, the driver comes as part of the kit, I gave him a quick head-swap

20mm SP AA

As you know I like German SP AA guns, this one based on these pics -

Once again based on one of these -
I added internal benches and cab seating, changed the front wheels, added loads of stowage. The 20mm and trailer are from Milicast, the crew a mix of AB Figures, Grubby Tanks, a plastic driver and an Alby resin gunner.

Cheap di-cast conversions

Bought several of these cheap Chinese di-cast toy halftracks at a stall at a classic car show (50p each)

Now they are pretty much 1/76th scale.

I`ve already converted one earlier as a beute vehicle now owned by 5. Kompanie 69PG

Shaun was nice enough to sell me some GMC type wheels, so I`ve started on another (again a beute from Tunisia)

A pic of the two conversions so you can see the interiors

I may well do the next one as a US track with pulpit ;)

Not sure if this combination was ever used but it looks the  part and th e truck could certainly take the weight

On the off chance I cannot use this combination for Tunisia, I made the gun separate for ground deployment  :P

I also created a sabot cargo insert for the truck  :good:
