Secondhand market find

Secondhand market find

Bought for a couple of Euro, a Lledo Days Gone 1939 Chevrolet car, slightly over scale to 20mm but fine as a staff car or piece of street furniture for a town or village. I`m happy with the colours, so I`m not even going to repaint it.

  1. And excellent find. I rarely find good gaming stuff in secondhand markets but when I do I get a nice warm glow of satisfaction.

    1. Spanish markets can be very weird and wonderful, I`ve found a few plastic kits and various di-cast toys plus now and again a terrain item (ornament) too :)

  3. I had a handful of lovely die cast vehicles as a child (60+ years ago). Goodness only knows where are now… Landfill, I suspect ☹️
    Cheers,

    1. I came home from school one day 13-14 or so to find my dad had thrown out my entire collection of models, toy soldiers, everything! "Time to grow up and put away your toys son".......

    2. Oh, no! I think that would have been very traumatic. Luckily you continued to not grow up and are still into the hobby.

    3. Eventually I met some guys who got me into roleplaying games (D&D, etc) in my late teens, then I got back into making models in my early 20s - by which time I had a job and could just do what i wanted. I`ve spent my entire adult life tring NOT to become my Dad and encourage both my boys in all their hobbies and interests.

    4. Glad you got back into a hobby you love, despite your upbringing. A longer story there that I would be interested to hear if I am ever in Spain; unlikely but never say never.

    7. Putting a face to a name on the internet - yes that would be nice :) Back to Wales tomorrow for about 6 weeks work, not looking forward to that.

  4. Its odd what parents do. I came home from university (after 6 weeks away) to catch up with friends and family to find my bed had been given to a lodger and my collection of 54mm figures to my cousin's son. I was not a happy lad! Carl
